Fire and Emergency New Zealand advises the fire restrictions changed for most of Auckland at 8am Monday 7 April.
Hauraki Gulf Islands remain in a prohibited fire season until further notice.
All other areas across Auckland have moved to a restricted fire season. This means open air fires are allowed if you have a permit. Visit the Fire and Emergency website to apply for a permit.
