My principal place of residence is in the Manurewa-Papakura Ward area. I am also standing for the Manurewa Local Board.
Ilango stands on the shoulders of those before him, and wants to work hard to push Labour values within Council to improve the lives of families and individuals in Manurewa Papakura.
A small business owner in Manurewa, Ilango has lived there with his wife and three children for the past 30 years and is committed to serve, support small businesses and create a safer community for all.
To ensure a thriving local economy, Ilango believes that businesses need to be supported and the wider community needs good core infrastructure to thrive. He wants to ensure safety-nets, opportunities and choices will remain for the most vulnerable youth in the community. Create a safer and vibrant community free of drugs, alcohol and poker machine which will produce leaders of tomorrow.
