The Aotea Community Recycling Centre is run by Anamata Community Enterprise.
Before you visit
Contact the centre in advance about:
- bulky items or large batches
- items that need extra handling or preparation
- anything unusual or that may need staff approval.
Fees and charges
Fees may apply for some materials or services.
Items that may be accepted
The centre may accept and sell reusable items in the on-site reuse shop if they are in good condition. This supports sustainability in the community and gives used items a second life.
Our opening hours change yearly to coincide with the peak periods and school holidays.
Standard hours:
- Monday and Tuesday: closed
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am to 4pm
- Saturday: 10am to 3pm
- Sunday: closed
Peak season hours (Monday prior to Christmas Day to Saturday prior to Waitangi Day):
- Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm
- Saturday: 10am to 3pm
- Sunday: closed
The centre will be closed on the following public holidays:
- New Year's Day
- day after New Year's Day
- Auckland Anniversary Day
- Waitangi Day
- Easter Monday
- Good Friday
- Easter Sunday
- Anzac Day
- King's Birthday
- Matariki
- Labour Day
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day.
