About the path
A smooth, flat ride around the edge of the water of the Tāmaki Estuary and Whakaaranga Creek. The popular path offers great views up and down the Tāmaki River and to Maungarei (Mt Wellington).
The route stretches from Prince Regent Drive in Farm Cove to the Panmure Bridge. It's a well sign-posted ride with information panels that provide historical information about the area.
Start at Kerswill Place, or from any of the local roads which connect onto the path. The Half Moon Bay ferry is also only a short ride away using quiet roads.
The ride is mostly flat and paved, with a couple of short hills and some short sections of boardwalk and gravel.
Take care where cycling on the sections of the path that run directly next to the estuary. Also look out for blind corners and walkers on the popular route.
Enjoy the scenic picnic spots along the path, and seating where you can relax and watch the many boats in the river.
Public toilets and outdoor gym equipment are located by the Pakuranga Sailing Club. Kids will love the giant 'snakes and ladders' game and playground, a short distance up from the sailing club, on the hillside off Bramley Drive.
The path was created by the local Rotary clubs and former Manukau City Council.
