Who can use a community noticeboard
Community noticeboards are for not-for-profit community groups and organisations to advertise community events or projects.
You must provide proof of your not-for-profit status. This can either be your organisation's:
- certificate of incorporated society
- IRD register number.
We do not accept community noticeboard applications from:
- private businesses
- commercial groups
- political parties.
You should know
Auckland Council is not liable for damage, vandalism or theft of your notices.
When you can book a community noticeboardYou can book noticeboards up to 8 months in advance.
We recommend you book community notice boards well in advance, particularly for popular sites.
Community noticeboards can only be booked for specific periods of time. See the booking periods for this year on Booking periods for community noticeboards.
You should know
If you regularly fail to supply or install a notice for your community noticeboard booking, we may decline your future booking requests.

Multiple community noticeboard bookings
- You can book the same noticeboard site for a maximum of four consecutive weeks and a total of eight weeks in a year.
- You can book up to 10 noticeboard sites in the same booking period.
- The same sign cannot be installed at different sites over the same period.
How notices for community noticeboards should be presented
Your notice should be designed in a landscape format and made to the size specified for the noticeboard you have chosen:
All notices must be professionally written using appropriate sized lettering. Using fewer words in bigger lettering makes the notice easier to read from a distance.
Notices must be printed on corflute or attached to corflute with staples. The corflute backing needs to be 5-7mm thick.
