A tranquil walk through established native bush in Point View Reserve, a 29-hectare natural heritage reserve with spectacular panoramic views and amazing bird life.
The path starts at the car park off Point View Drive, just minutes from suburban Auckland. It's a bushwalking track and you'll also pass through open areas with views to the countryside.
The path is a combination of the Riroriro and Kereru tracks marked on the on-site signage. The track includes a number of stairs without handrails. These can be slippery so take care and watch your footing as you walk.
Point View Lookout is a spectacular lookout point with views over eastern Auckland and out to Rangitoto Island. The walk to the lookout point is mostly uphill and will get you puffing, but it is well worth the effort and is all downhill to finish.
