About the path

This scenic nature bushwalk through Centennial Park is a hidden gem in East Coast Bays.

Start at the end of Sandford Street and follow the walkway into Centennial Park. A bright sign created by local school students welcomes you to the start of the nature trail.

Download the QR code at the start of the trail if you have a smartphone with you. There are information stations along the loop walkway to help you identify native bush and features.

Enjoy spotting native bird life, ponga (silver fern) groves and beautiful yellow kōwhai flowers.

The path is well signposted and features an elevated boardwalk and well-maintained gravel sections. There are some gentle climbs and a few steps.

Follow the short signposted detour to view a World War II “pill box”.

Work to restore Centennial Park’s native forest is carried out by the Centennial Park Bush Society. Volunteers remove invasive weeds, grow native plants, trap animal pests and maintain tracks.

Dogs must be on a leash.
