About the path
Native forest, great views, waterfalls and giant kauri trees - this walk is a favourite with visitors to Hunua Ranges Regional Park.
Start at the Hunua Falls car park. Take a short detour (signposted from the carpark) to take in the famed Hunua Falls before starting your walk.
Hike along the Cossey Gorge Track, a combination of gravel, boardwalk and bush tracks. To cross Cossey Creek, you will have to wade or walk across the rocks.
Admire the views when you reach the turnaround point at Cosseys Reservoir. Public toilets are available here.
Dogs are allowed on this track under control and on-leash, however must be kept away from the dam and water supply.
To prevent the spread of kauri dieback, large sections of the Hunua Ranges Regional Park are now closed. Please stay on the walking tracks, and follow the instructions to clean your shoes before and after your visit.
