Awaroa Walkway

Description of The Awaroa Walkway

This walkway follows the coastline from Shelly Park Beach in Howick to Musick Point, where you can enjoy stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf and Tāmaki Estuary.

There are several tranquil beaches along the way, including Cockle Bay and Eastern Beach.

At low tide, you will be able to walk over the rocks, and at high tide, you can complete the walk via reserves and roads.

Duration of the walk

4 to 6 hours

Dog access

Under control on walkway. Prohibited on sports fields or near children's playgrounds. Dog must not disturb wildlife or park users.

How to access The Awaroa Walkway

Main entry points include Sandspit Road, Cockle Bay, Howick Beach, Mellons Bay, Eastern Beach and Musick Point.
