What the Regional Parks Management Plan 2022 does
The Regional Parks Management Plan (RPMP) 2022 sets the 10-year vision and direction for managing our regional parks network.
It was approved for the majority of regional parkland in September 2022.
The RPMP 2010 is still in use for Lake Wainamu and the Hunua Falls.

Regional Parks Management Plan Annual Report 2023/2024
This is the first annual update on the progress of the Regional Parks Management Plan since it was adopted in September 2022.
The report covers the projects and activities that were started, ongoing or completed in the 2023/2024 financial year. These are based on the plan's six main focus areas.
The focus areas are:
- our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- protecting biodiversity
- adding value to the visitor experience
- adapting to climate change
- mitigating climate change
- collaborating to achieve outcomes.
