Omaha Drive and boat ramp stormwater upgrade

We are upgrading the stormwater network along Omaha Drive and within the Omaha Boat Ramp Reserve.

What the proposed improvements will do

The improvements will:

  • reduce flooding and water pooling issues along Omaha Drive
  • protect private properties and prevent beach erosion
  • address erosion near Omaha Boat Ramp Reserve
  • improve surface water runoff in the area.

How we will do this

We will:

  • install a new stormwater pipeline
  • construct a new stormwater outfall area
  • build concrete support walls either side of the pipeline outfall to prevent erosion - known as a wingwall.

How long the work will last

The work started in September 2024 and we expect to complete it in January 2025.

How will the work affect you

  • Work hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday.
  • Work will be staged with a traffic management plan in place.
  • Traffic controllers will manage pedestrian and vehicle access.
  • Limited street parking on Omaha Drive near the work site. Parking available beyond the traffic management signs.
  • Driveway access for residents will always be maintained.
