Pay your property rates by internet banking

Pay rates for one property by internet banking

Follow the internet banking instructions on the back of your rates bill.

If you do not have a copy of your rates bill

From your internet banking account:

  • select Auckland Council Rates as the payee or use the bank account number:

    12-3113-0131262-00

  • enter the payment amount (to find out much you owe, type your address into our Property valuation search box, then click the Property rates tab)
  • enter payer particulars: Your name
  • enter payer code: Property address
  • enter payer reference: Rates assessment number (including any leading zeros as per your rates bill). If you do not have your rates assessment number handy, you can look it up by typing your address into our Property valuation search box).

Payment due dates

If you pay by internet banking on the due date, we will treat the payment as received on time.

To find out when your next rates installment is due, visit Due dates for property rates payments.

Our tip

Banks have different cut-off times for processing transactions. Pay by the due date to avoid a penalty.

Pay rates for more than one property

You cannot use internet banking to make a lump sum payment for more than one property.

You need to:

  • set up individual bill payments for each property
  • ensure the relevant payee is used for each property. This will depend on where the property is located.

Our tip

You can make a lump sum on myAUCKLAND for more than one property.
