Online EFTPOS
What is Online EFTPOS?
Online EFTPOS is a cost-free and secure alternative to traditional online payments.
You can pay online with your smart phone directly from your bank app.
This is one of the safest and easiest ways to pay online, and it's also one of the most secure payment methods available as you don't need to expose your payment or banking credentials.
How Online EFTPOS works
You will receive a notification in your bank's app requesting confirmation of payment.
You must approve this request to complete your transaction.
Your payment will clear instantly.

Why we charge a card payment fee
Auckland Council has to pay ongoing third party fees for accepting and processing credit card payments, and the fee covers these costs.
The card payment fee is an additional 1.75 per cent that is applied to payments that you choose to pay using your credit card.
When paying online, this fee also applies to debit cards.
If you’d like to avoid paying the fee, pay by Online EFTPOS.
