The trust leases regional park land to Auckland Council and supports conservation and heritage activities.

About Mutukāroa (Hamlins Hill) Management Trust

Mutukāroa (Hamlins Hill) Management Trust was set up in 1996 and established Mutukāroa / Hamlins Hill and surrounding land as a regional park.

The trustees, who are mana whenua and council members, help to support, protect and enhance Mutukāroa / Hamlins Hill Regional Park. They do this by:

  • participating in the management planning process
  • contributing to the park management plan in line with the Reserves Act 1977
  • providing general policy advice on how the park should be managed
  • raising funds to support park projects
  • supporting efforts to conserve the historic, environmental, archaeological and cultural aspects of the park.

Mutukāroa (Hamlins Hill) trustees

Of the six trustees, three are from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust Board, Ngāti Paoa Trust Board and Waikato Tainui Kauhanganui Incorporated. A further three are from Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board.
