There are a number of projects and developments happening in the Howick Local Board area.

AMETI Eastern Busway

AMETI (Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative) is creating a dedicated busway connecting Panmure, Pakuranga and Botany Town Centre.

This project is being delivered by Auckland Transport.

Ormiston Town Centre

The town centre development  on Ormiston Road will include a mix of retail, leisure and community facilities to cater for the estimated 230,000 residents in the area by 2028.

The project is being developed by Todd Properties in conjunction with Panuku Developments Auckland.

Community facilities in Flat Bush

Plans for a new library and community space at Ormiston Town Centre and a new aquatic centre are currently on hold.

Funding of $35 million has been confirmed for the library facility and $48 million for the aquatic centre.

The projects have been deferred as part of the council’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the financial constraints in its annual budget.
