How to surrender a resource consent

To surrender the consent you will need to complete a notice of surrender.

By email

Scan the completed document, put "Surrender of [consent number]" in the subject line and email it to:

rcregulatorysupportcentral2@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz

What happens next

A monitoring officer will assess the notice of surrender. Approval of the surrender is subject to the consent holder meeting the conditions of the consent.

Depending upon the consented activity, the assessment may include a site visit by the monitoring officer or the consent holder providing a report to confirm conditions have been met.

We aim to complete assessment and the surrender transaction within 20 working days. We will send you an invoice for the surrender fee.

You remain responsible for compliance with conditions, annual charges (if applicable) and monitoring fees until we have confirmed the surrender.
