User licence for Auckland Council Open Data

Data that is licensed for re-use

You can re-use this data in:

• maps
• websites
• printed material
• published applications.

All data, unless specifically stated, is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence.

Data that is licensed for one specified use only

There is a small portion of our data that is not available for re-use.

This is for two main reasons:

1. The licence for the data, where the data was acquired from a third party under a licence, may prohibit on-supply.
2. The data is of a sensitive nature containing personal or private information, or it is a draft and not yet released for consultation.

For example, the following datasets are licensed for a specified use:

• soils layer provided by LandCare
• property information from LINZ
• DOC conservation areas.

We may release some of these datasets to contractors working for us, under the terms and conditions tied to their contract.
