Expressions of interest for a community lease at Youth Space – 12-16 High Street, Ōtāhuhu 1062

​Auckland Council invites expressions of interest from community groups or organisations interested in occupying the ground floor space at 12-16 High Street, Ōtāhuhu. This building is located next to Ōtāhuhu Town Hall Community Centre and is close to McAuley and St Joseph School in Ōtāhuhu.

Details of the site:

Size of site: 653m² more or less
Rental cost: $1300.00 per annum plus GST
Maintenance Fee: $10,000.00 per annum plus GST
Total cost: $11,300.00 per annum plus GST
Term of council-owned site: 5 years, plus 1 renewal of 5 years.


Groups applying must be:

  • An incorporated society or charitable trust and meet the criteria prescribed in the Auckland Council Community Occupancy Guidelines 2012 (Updated July 2023).
  • Ideally, based and working in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu community.
  • Able to identify positive community outcomes that will occur as a result of the proposed tenancy;
  • Preferably working with youth.
  • Ideally, able to share the space with other community groups. 

Auckland Council reserves the right to seek proposals and applications from other parties in addition to those who respond to this invitation, and at its sole discretion to accept or reject any applications.

Any information provided to the Council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by the Council under that Act unless a withholding ground under that Act Applies. Applicants should state in their application if the whole or any part of the application is to be kept confidential.
