About the path
Looking for something fun to do with the whānau this weekend? Try this picturesque coastal walk from West Harbour Drive to Luckens Reserve in West Harbour.
Your effort will be rewarded with great views over the upper Waitematā Harbour, nice areas of bush, and finishing at a popular local park with good facilities.
If you are coming by car, park at Luckens Reserve and walk a short distance south to West Harbour Drive where the path starts.
The first short steep section at the West Harbour Drive end is a good challenge to get you started! At the bottom of this first slope is a short side route to the beach, well worth exploring if you have some time.
Further along, you can also detour off Renoir Street down to a very small beach - it is a few minutes to walk each way but be careful, the drop to the beach is steep!
The path ends at Luckens Reserve where there is a great off-leash dog exercise area. There is also a children's playground, skate park and basketball court to complete a fun day out.
Retrace your steps back to the starting point, spend more time at the park, or look for the exit that connects to the marina via the Clearwater Cove Path.
