Description of The Ōtara Walkway
The walkway passes through 220ha of open space in Ōtara, following the route of Ōtara Creek.
It forms a green corridor through the area, linking the Ōtara Town Centre with Hillary College,
Ngāti Ōtara Park and Ōtara Lake.
Along the way, you can see the mangroves that grow in the tidal mudflat zones and the associated wildlife.

Dog access
Dogs have to be under control on the walkway. They are prohibited on sports fields or near children's playgrounds.
Dogs must not disturb wildlife or park users.
Route of the Ōtara Walkway
The walkway starts at the end of Kaitawa Crescent and follows the Otara Creek around to East Tamaki Road and back to Kaitawa Crescent.
The loop back is along the road.
How to access the Ōtara Walkway
You can access the walkway from the Ōtara Town Centre through Lovegrove Crescent along the banks of the Ōtara Creek.
