Green Road Park Masterplan

The Green Road Park Masterplan sets the vision for Green Road Park in Dairy Flat and guides its long-term development and activities.

About the Green Road Park Masterplan

The Green Road Park Masterplan responds to the:

  • importance of ecological restoration and includes actions to improve water quality and increase tree cover
  • interest from people in the local community who want to access the land for informal recreation
  • concerns of current leaseholders who need certainty about their continued use of the park.

Our vision for Green Road Park Masterplan

We want Green Road Park to be a destination park which attracts visitors from near and far while offering a variety of recreational activities.

What the Green Road Park Masterplan will do

Green Road Park will be:

  • a multi-use space for both active and relaxing activities
  • designed to blend with nature with plants, water and natural features
  • built to follow the natural shape of the land, reducing the need for earthworks
  • open and spacious, allowing many people to enjoy it, while maintaining its rural feel
  • developed in a way that respects the park’s natural, rural surroundings
  • well-connected to Green Road and surrounding growth areas
  • designed to serve as popular destination and a local community park.

Planned improvements

In the next five years, we plan to provide paths in and around the park and areas for:

  • walking and running
  • mountain biking
  • horse riding.

The plan also includes areas for active recreation, as well as planting and environmental restoration and spaces for casual activities.

These areas will be designed based on the park's natural features, such as plants, waterways and wildlife.

The plan will be reviewed after 10 years to better understand the needs of the growing community and their preferences for sports, recreation and open spaces.
