The panel's role in designations
Designations included in the PAUP were publicly notified and open to public submissions between 30 September 2013 and 28 February 2014.
The panel considered these submissions at public hearings on:
- 30 November 2015
- 1 December 2015
- 2 May 2016.
The panel's recommendations will include which designations should:
- stay in the PAUP and any suggested amendments
- be discontinued.
The panel's recommendations so far
The panel delivered its recommendations on designations to the council on 18 May 2016, except for:
- Auckland International Airport
- KiwiRail designations heard on 2 May 2016 and
- NZ Transport Agency designation 6727 (Newmarket Viaduct) heard on 2 May 2016.
The panel delivered recommendations on these three designations and its recommendations on all other aspects of the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan (PAUP) on 22 July 2016.
