About the committee
This co-management committee makes decisions about the care and management of Waiomanu. It has mana whenua and local board members.
The committee’s duties include:
- protecting and promoting Waiomanu Reserve as a significant taonga
- putting in place Ngai Tai tikanga
- managing the reserve according to the Coastal and Riparian Reserves Management Plan 2009
- preparing plans and programmes to help operate, develop and care for the reserve and to educate visitors.
Committee members
The committee will have equal membership from Ngai Tai ki Tamaki Tribal Trust and from Franklin Local Board.
