You should know

Holidays can cause confusion at the end of the year. You may need to apply to renew your alcohol licence earlier than usual.

Apply to renew your alcohol licence at least 20 working days before it expires. However, under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the days between 20 December 2024 and 15 January 2025 are not working days.

If your licence expires between 20 December 2024 and 15 January 2025, apply for renewal by Thursday 21 November 2024.

If your licence expires between 16 January 2025 and 13 February 2025, calculate the latest date you can file your licence renewal application. This date will be in either November or December.

When to renew your alcohol club licence

If you have an existing club licence, you must apply to renew it at least 20 working days before it expires.
