We will report on progress of actions contained within the plan annually.
In addition, we have identified a series of
indicators which we will use to measure success in delivery against our climate goals.
The trends in these indicators will be reported on in this section of the digital plan.
Indicators will be reviewed, and further ones identified, as we implement the plan.
Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland Climate Plan progress report
In December 2021 Auckland Council provided the first annual progress report on Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri following its launch in December 2020.
Regular monitoring and reporting are fundamental to understanding progress towards the main goals of reducing emissions and adapting to climate change impacts.
The plan states we will report annually on the progress of actions contained within the plan and that we will use a series of indicators to identify trends and measure success in delivery against our climate goals.
The progress report is focused on:
- evaluating progress
- summarising successes and challenges
- determining where further focus is required.
The report provides progress updates on key actions and headline indicators within each of the eight priority areas. It also provides a summary of key initiatives planned for 2022 and beyond.
It acknowledges that delivery relies on:
- individual action
- collective action
- partnerships across all sectors of the economy and society.
