In declaring a
climate emergency, Auckland Council recognised that urgent climate action is necessary to build a better future.
But the actions we take can also deliver social, environmental, economic and cultural wellbeing. These four wellbeings underpin quality of life in our communities.
By recognising and maximising all benefits in the actions we take we can create a more equal, happy, prosperous, climate-positive region.
An example of how this can be delivered is
Auckland’s Urban Ngahere (Forest) Strategy which shows a range of co-benefits in growing our urban ngahere.
