Why we are creating reserve management plans
We only create management plans for individual reserves if it has complex issues or opportunities.
Reserve management plans will:
- help the local board make good decisions about how local reserves are used, enjoyed and protected
- address what needs to be considered when developing and enhancing our reserves through community and mana whenua engagement
- provide a policy framework to guide decision-making over the next 10 years.
How we are creating the plans
To develop the plans, we will be using the statutory consultation process for developing reserve management plans under the Reserves Act 1977.
In progress plans
Here are the reserve management plans which are currently in progress. We will update this page as more plans are added.
Public notification
The local board has approved notifying the public of its intention to prepare a draft management plan or review an existing one. The public are invited to submit their ideas to help draft the plan.
Submissions will be reviewed once the public notification period ends. A report will be presented to the local board.
Draft plan in development
We are engaging with key stakeholders, local board members and mana whenua to draft these plans.
